The Rutz Clovis Point is Up for Auction

The Rutz Clovis Point, found in Washington State in 1950, is the biggest of these 13,000-year-old spear points known. Made of obsidian, it is 9 3/4 inches long (24.8 cm). It is going to be auctioned off on November 9, with an expected price of $200,000 to $400,000.

UPDATE: the point actually fetched $276,000, so less than the sellers hoped but still a record for a stone tool.
